Hong Kong

香港
2016–2017

Hong Kong is a city built vertically. Everything stacks upward - signs, floors, people.

Taking the Star Ferry from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui may be the cheapest viewing ticket in the world. At six in the evening, Victoria Harbour catches the light on its glass curtain walls, and the whole city looks like a circuit board suddenly switched on.

I like Central before dawn. The cha chaan tengs have just opened, pineapple buns are still hot, and the streets are almost empty - except for the neon from last night, still stubbornly glowing.
